On Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, Bonnie Wargi passed away peacefully in a hospital in Coeur d’Alene.

She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly by everyone. In her lifetime, she had worked as a bookkeeper for her mom, and both as a recess duty and a food service worker at the schools which her children attended.

Bonnie was a very talented woman with many stories to tell and, given time, she would be sure to recant them all. She told of her love of nature and the places she had seen in her travels and she spoke about history, both of the family and the world. She was a delight to all who were fortunate enough to meet her and made many friends wherever she went.

Bonnie’s memory carries on with her surviving family: Jack, her husband; and her kids, Dan and Tawnia Gerken; Karen and Markus Rissmann; Roy and Vickie Wargi; and Kenny Wargi; in addition to her grandchildren, Tristan, Breanna, Natalie, Domnick, Jakob and Sydney. She is preceded in death by her dad and stepmom, Ken and Jesse Sidebottom; her mother, Juanita Powell; and her grandson, Matthew Gerken.

There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at The First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
