Sandpoint 3, Moscow 0

MOSCOW — The Bulldogs captured a conference win over Moscow, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-11) on the road Tuesday.

“We had a hard time getting going tonight, but still got the job done,” head coach Piper Wahlin said. “We spread the offense really well and did a much better job of being disciplined on defense.”

Sandpoint’s Aubree Lane recorded a team-high 12 kills to go along with two blocks and eight digs. Sophomore Belen Gonzales put up a season-high 11 kills and added two blocks of her own. Junior libero Audrey Petruso led the way behind the service line with four aces; she also had 20 digs on defense for the Bulldogs.

“We are peaking at the right time and it was fun to watch the girls move so smoothly around the court,” Wahlin said.

Sandpoint (3-8) will look to take down Lakeland in their regular season finale Tuesday.

Lakeside 3, Clark Fork 1

CLARK FORK — Coming off a sweep over Kootenai, the Wampus Cats were defeated by Lakeside, 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25) at home Tuesday.

Lilly Reuter, who had 27 assists against Kootenai, posted 18 assists and 22 digs against the Knights Tuesday night. Head coach Lydnsie Kiebert-Carey said Lakeside targeted the right side of Clark Fork’s defense and Lilly handled it really well.

Amari Printz-Hay, who led the team with 12 kills earlier this week, recorded 15 digs to go along with four solo blocks.

“She’s been speeding up her game and it shows,” Kiebert-Carey said.

On offense, Eloise Shelton, who had a season-high 10 aces against the Warriors, posted nine against Lakeside. Aurora Lane led the Wampus Cats with 10 kills on the night. Kiebert-Carey said she was proud of the way Lane took swings without fear.

“Lakeside is a strong serving team and we let ourselves fall pretty far behind at key moments in the match,” Kiebert-Carey said. “Those close sets were heartbreakers. It’s that point in the season when the difference between winning and losing is psychological. It’s something we’re still learning as a team.”

Clark Fork (7-7) will be back in action at home against Genesis Prep today.

St. Maries 3, Priest River 1

ST. MARIES — After coming off a big win over Newport, the Spartans fell to St. Maries, 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 26-28, 24-26) in a closely contested match on the road Tuesday.

On offense, Jayda Storro once again recorded team-highs for Priest River in aces (4) and in assists (21). Helena White led the team in both digs and blocks with 11 each. On defense, Aleigha Jensen posted four blocks.

“For some of our girls it was an off night,” head coach Katlyn Ward said. “We made the same mistakes multiple times, only learning from it when it was too late. We play St. Maries again Monday and I know the girls will be hungry for a win.”

Priest River (5-4, 1-3) faces Riverside on Saturday.
