Tamarack Time returns to Bigfork Oct. 14

After a three-year hiatus, Tamarack Time will be returning to Bigfork next weekend.

The popular food festival calls for local homemakers, cooks and foodies to bring the best prepared dishes to local downtown businesses Saturday, Oct. 14 with tasting open to the public later in the day.

Here are the categories and drop-off locations:

• Appetizers - Glacier Sotheby’s

• Breads & Jams - Twin Birch Square

• Casseroles - Mountain Vibes Gallery

• Kid’s Dishes - Showthyme Act II

• Desserts - Garden Bar

• Cookies - Eva Gates Homemade Preserves

• Pies - Bigfork Station

• Pickles - Eric Thorsen Gallery

• Potatoes - Pocketstone Cafe

• Soups - S.M. Bradford

• Stews - FoR Fine Art

• Ethnic Food - Pocketstone Cafe

• Chili - Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts

Entries must be dropped off between 11 a.m. and noon and judging will begin at noon.

Items will be available to the public at 1 p.m. with tasting badges available at the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center for $5.

The event benefits the maintenance of the Swan River Nature Trail.
