I enjoy writing for the paper that my great-grandfather read and covering the same small town community that is still alive today. I cover all things Badger sports, local politics and government, community news, business, outdoors and appear on the 7Bee podcast for the Herald's update. BONNERS FERRY — Badger volleyball (7-9) fell to the Lincoln County Lions and Moscow Bears in all three sets this week.

The Badgers stuck with the Bears early on and inched back up the scoreboard, but once the Bears hit the 20-point mark Bonners Ferry couldn’t keep up the momentum in the first set.

The Badgers came closer in the second set, winning a long rally to come within a point, 14-15, but Moscow’s continual blocks gave them the advantage in the second and third sets.

Junior outside hitter Helene Rae led the Badgers in kills with 11. Senior Avery Bayer led in digs with 16.

Badger setter Ellie Falck had 23 assists. Rae led in serve receiving with 14, followed by Bayer with 11.

In serving aces, Sara Cummings and Bayer had one each.

Ellie Falck, Aspen Hill and Rae earned one block each.
