COEUR d'ALENE — Citizens for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, the umbrella organization for the YES! Campaign, announced its endorsement of James “Jimmy” McAndrew and Heather Tenbrink for the Nov. 7 school board trustee race.

Since its founding in 2012, Citizens for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools has refrained from endorsing school board candidates, but with partisan involvement and endorsements in nonpartisan trustee races and a recent aggressive campaign against the property tax levy that provides 25% of the district’s budget, the organization determined there was too much at stake in the November trustee elections to not endorse this first time.

“Jimmy McAndrew and Heather Tenbrink are supporters of public education and the district’s supplemental levy,” said a news release. “Both candidates understand how crucial levy dollars are to Coeur d’Alene public schools. ... In their roles as trustees, the organization is confident Jimmy and Heather will support future essential levies and promote a solid public school system in Coeur d’Alene.”

Citizens for Coeur d'Alene Public Schools is a group of local community members who value the continued success of the Coeur d'Alene School District through the passing of local levies and bonds.
