Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 year, 3 months AGO
John Hamilton Hart passed away Saturday, Oct. 7. He was born March 27, 1964, to John D. and Roberta (Bertie) Hart in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where he joined big sister Susie.
John grew up on Stanley Hill with his family. He loved the outdoors, whether it was playing basketball with his buddies, sitting on the porch swing with Mr. Morgan or chopping wood and burning brush with his dad. The family moved from Stanley Hill to Hayden Lake in 1980.
After graduating from Coeur d’Alene High School, John continued his education at the University of Idaho, earning his bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in English.
John went to work at Knudtsen Chevrolet while he was a teenager and continued there until his death.
John met Susan, the love of his life, and they married in 1998, making their home in Post Falls. They welcomed daughter Alexis in 2002.
John was the biggest Seattle Seahawks fan of all time. He loved to go to Seattle to see their games, first with his father and then with Alexis. Another interest John shared with Alexis and Susan was attending Comic Cons, as John loved comics and movies. One of the highlights was when John and Alexis had their picture taken with Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel comics.
Recently, John and Susan found a new interest in Florida, visiting family and the many attractions.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter Alexis; sister Susie (Scott) Fischer, and many nieces and nephews.
John will be remembered for his hard-working mentality, loyalty and strong sense of humor. A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. with a reception following. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home. www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
