The Coeur d'Alene area Knights of Columbus councils will hold its annual "Coats for Kids" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

Toddlers to teens can receive free coats at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4772 E. Poleline Ave.

Hats, scarves, gloves and socks donated by Black Sheep Sporting Goods are also available.

The goal of the program "is to ensure that no child in North Idaho goes without a coat during the winter season."

Knights of Columbus councils from St. George, St. Pius X and St. Thomas annually give away hundreds of coats donated by the nonprofit, “Transforming a Life."

"The youths do not need to be Catholic or Christian, just a child in need of a coat," wrote David Krell, grand knight, St. George Knights of Columbus, Council 12560.
