FRUITLAND – Clark Fork fell to Rockland, 3-0 (8-25, 15-25, 5-25) in a state play-in game held Saturday at Fruitland High School. Despite the loss, the Wampus Cats had plenty of positives to reflect on.

“I’m sad to know our seniors are done playing Clark Fork volleyball, but I look forward to cheering them on in their other sports this year,” head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. “They are awesome, well-rounded kids.”

Three of those seniors, Lilly Reuter, Eloise Shelton, and Amari Printz-Hay, all contributed for the Wampus Cats on Saturday. Shelton had a team-high 10 digs; Reuter also contributed eight of her own. Printz-Hay added a block to the stat sheet. Aurora Lane added three kills and Piper Scarlett had four aces for the Wampus Cats. Both players will return for Clark Fork next season.

“Our underclassmen gained valuable experience this season and I know they’re ready to continue representing our program well,” Kiebert-Carey said.

Kiebert-Carey, in her first year as head coach, said this season was truly a team effort.

“I want to thank Michelle Valliere and Tracey Andersen-Olson for coaching the girls in Fruitland since I couldn’t be there. Because I welcomed my first baby in July, this season was a team effort in every sense of the term. I am so grateful for them. Good luck to Rockland in the state tournament.”

Clark Fork finished the season with an 8-10 record and captured another district title, nothing to be ashamed about whatsoever.
