SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Bullpup volleyball teams recently took home district titles. The seventh-grade “A” and “B” teams both won team titles while the eighth-grade “B” team finished district runner-up.

7th grade “A” Team

“This was a special group of girls that worked extremely hard and fought every game for each other,” coach Amanda Balers said. “They got the job done.”

Team members include: Stella Brown, Aspynn Duquette, Hailey Gion, Ali Gunter, Viv Gunter, Blaire Jenkins, Aria Lawson, Averi Mire, Darby Rust, Evelyn Walker, Abi Williams and Maggie Zimmerman.

7th grade “B” Team

Team members include: Bella Evans, Zoey Harshbarger, Moria Kidd, Maci Kucherry, Kinley Kulp, Pamela Bird, Eden Murphy, Alieze Padilla, Avery Reif, Angelica Standley, Addison Sychla, Randee Vernon, Destani Wolf, Reese Reilly, Isabelle Lemen, Jaspen Kleinsmith, Ellie Lefever and Brianna Bincarowsky.

8th grade “B” Team

"Any time you have a volleyball team of 24 girls there can be challenges, however, this group showed up everyday and demonstrated incredible patience and perseverance,” head coach Valerie Johansen said. “They absolutely belonged in the championship game and I could not be more proud of their efforts.”

Coach Johansen also mentioned how the team cleaned the stands at every away game, including after their loss in the championship match.
