Bluphoria will be performing to support their newly released major label full-length self-titled debut album Thursday, Oct. 26, at Cruisers Bar and Grill 6105 W. Seltice Way, Post Falls.
The Bluphoria album combines rock, blues, alternative, pop and psychedelia into a kaleidoscopic signature style of their own design.
“I wrote these songs as a Black man making rock ‘n’ roll in America,” said 23-year-old lead vocalist and lead guitarist Reign LaFreniere.
LaFreniere grew up in Northern California under the influence of Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, James Brown and Pink Floyd.
“Rock ‘n’ roll started as a Black art pioneered by Black men and women,” he said. “I’m taking my people’s music back. We’re reframing it together in our way. The rhythm is the focal point. The blues is in there. Rock ‘n’ roll is definitely not dying.”
Bluphoria has signed for representation to Glastry Management, which also represents the Rolling Stones and up-and-coming English singer-songwriter Daisy Clark.
Listeners can get a feel for the album by listening to singles like “Walk Through the Fire," “Set Me Up," "Ain't Got Me" or "Columbia."
