Bring a picnic lunch and a chair to enjoy some pop songs, classics and Broadway tunes by the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra from noon to 2 p.m. Labor Day, Sept. 4, at the Rotary Bandshell in City Park.

Or come to see Aspire Community Theatre open the show with "Singing in the Rain."

The repertoire for the evening will include Movement 1 from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, the suite from "Oklahoma!," Gershwin's "Crazy for You" and "Summertime," and a military medley.

“We encourage you to bring donations for the symphony that day, and a portion of your donation will go to help the local law enforcement buy gifts for their annual Christmas toy drive,” symphony marketing manager Shelley Hickox said.

The show will be an opportunity to experience the orchestra before they open the 2023-24 season at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Schuler Performing Arts Center at North Idaho College.

The season theme is Bon Voyage and each concert will be a musical stop around the world.
