Photo courtesy Lewiston Roundup Lauren Rook, 15, of Hayden competed Friday night in the Local Girls Barrels event at the 89th annual Lewiston Roundup. Last year at the Xtreme Barrel Race, Lauren and her quarter horse JSS Sexy French Hustler (nicknamed Tucker) brought home $9,000+ from a single event. Lauren's resume includes a 2021 Northwest Barrel Horse Association Youth Championship, and a consistent showing in the 1D/2D at divisional races across the Pacific Northwest. Lauren is a sophomore at Coeur d'Alene High.
GOLF
Borowski, Yates medalists at JV tourney: Jake-Ryan Borowski of Coeur d'Alene shot a 35 for nine holes and was boys medalist, and Ava Yates of Coeur d'Alene was girls medalist with a 47 at the Post Falls JV Invitational on Aug. 29 at Prairie Falls Golf Club.
Cooper George of Lake City was second among the boys with a 41. Ava Jaeger of Coeur d'Alene was second for the girls with a 53.
No team scores were kept.
