Gove wins PNW Senior PGA Championship; Bomar also qualifies for national senior championship

BLAINE, Wash. — Jeff Gove of The Idaho Club in Sandpoint, won the Pacific Northwest Section Senior PGA Professional Championship for the second straight year on Thursday, finishing at 2-under par (69-73—142) at the Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club for a two-stroke victory.

Mitch Lowe of Portland and Jeff Coston of Blaine tied for second at even-par 144.

Billy Bomar (Bomar Putting Company), former co-owner of Prairie Falls Golf Club, tied for sixth at 2-over 146 (75-71).

The top five finishers qualified for the 2023 Senior PGA Professional Championship, scheduled for Oct. 26-29 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Since Coston already had an exemption into the national event, a playoff was held for the fifth qualifying spot, and Bomar won the playoff to advance to Florida.

David Christenson (The Golf Club at Black Rock) tied for 20th at 9-over 153 (77-76).
