COEUR d'ALENE — If suds and sausages sound like something special, the annual Oktoberfest is the place to splash down Friday and Saturday in downtown Coeur d'Alene.

The event includes craft beers from imported and local breweries. There will be two beer garden locations and more beer tasting opportunities spread throughout business locations downtown.

All told, there will be more than 30 beers and ciders.

Live music, bratwurst, pretzels and sauerkraut, a costume contest with a Bavarian theme and stein-holding contest with prizes will be part of the fun.

General tickets are $30 and include eight tastings and a commemorative beer can glass. Upgraded commemorative tankards are $40 and include eight tastings.

Last year's 2,000 tickets for the event went quickly.

Tickets will be available day of the event in the Plaza Shops at 210 Sherman Ave. while supplies last and in advance online.
