Cayuse Prairie School is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a potluck Sept. 23.

The community is invited to attend the celebration from noon to 4 p.m. at the school located at 897 Lake Blaine Road in Kalispell. People planning to attend are asked to bring food to share at the potluck, picnic blankets and yard games. A group photo will be taken at the event and a special song will be sung.

Former students are invited to answer an online questionnaire at www.cayuseprairie.com to share memories, activities they participated in, favorite teachers, and what they are doing now, for example. The school is also seeking class photos from the past 125 years to display at the celebration.

A QR code is also also posted at the school’s website that will allow users to access a list of raffles and fundraising events to help the school raise money to fund a playground and classroom expansion as it grows into the next 125 years. The school is looking to raise $32,000 to complete construction of a classroom; $50,000 to expand the playground; $20,000 for perimeter fencing. Any additional funding raised would go toward expanding parking.
