PREP VOLLEYBALL: Timberlake tops Clark Fork

I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | September 21, 2023 1:00 AM

Timberlake 3, Clark Fork 0
SPIRIT LAKE — The Wampus Cats weren't able to get revenge on the Tigers, losing 3-0 (17-25, 17-25, 21-25) at Timberlake High School on Tuesday.
Clark Fork went into the game missing two starters due to illness, so bench players had to step up right out of the gate.
"We decided it was a night to try new things and really support one another," head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. "I'm proud of the girls' energy and positivity while facing adversity."
Eloise Shelton and Lilly Reuter had a heavy workload Tuesday. Shelton recorded a team-high nine kills, a team-high 13 digs, and three aces. Reuter chipped in 14 assists and three aces of her own. Piper Scarlett also had three aces on the night.
On defense, freshman Nora-Jean Hoy stepped up in the middle posting two aces and a stuff block that energized her teammates.
Clark Fork (4-5, 1-0) after facing three 3A opponents in a row, will face Kootenai (0-4) on the road today.
