SPIRIT LAKE — Senior forward Alexa Sheppard scored in the 70th to cap a hat trick for Coeur d'Alene Charter in a 6-3 Intermountain League win over the Timberlake Tigers on Thursday at Timberlake High.

Sheppard also had two assists for Coeur d'Alene Charter.

"It always takes a bit for us to adjust to the pace of play and how the ball moves on Timberlake's home field," Couer d'Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. "Even though we scored a few early, it took about half a game to connect passes like we normally do. Our upperclassmen helped push us through some tough moments in the first half. Credit to Timberlake for not backing down and playing tough until that final whistle, especially since they had no subs."

“We just didn’t have enough answers for everything they threw at us,” Timberlake coach Steve Michael said. “But we held together as a team and remained strong in what we wanted to do. Charter, again, they’re a fantastic team and Stacy (Smith) does a great job of developing her players. We just kind of ran out of gas in the end.”
