The Columbia Falls Wildcats girls soccer team tied the Bigfork Valkyries for the second time this season, this time in the Cats’ Homecoming game with a score of 2-2.
Coach Thomas Clark was proud of his team’s ability to possess and direct the ball, but noted that they were hesitant on execution in critical moments, whether offensively or defensively, which cost them the win. “The effort is always there,” Clark said.
Senior Hope McAtee scored the Cats’ first goal unassisted. Sophomore Taylor Rodgers, a player who usually specializes in defense, made the second. Clark was proud of her performance and was excited to see her score.
Last Tuesday the girls thumped Polson, 8-0. Mila Johns and Josie Harris scored hat tricks for Columbia Falls. Onnikka Lawrence and McAtee also scored.
After press time on Tuesday, the Wildcats took on Libby at home for their senior night game, check for updates online. On Oct. 5, they will take on Whitefish on the road in the last match before playoffs at 3 p.m.
