Applications sought for Grant Tourism Commission

EPHRATA — The Grant County Tourism Commission is looking for a volunteer to serve a three-year term representing the northern part of the county.

Volunteers must live in Tourism Commission District 1, which includes Ephrata, Soap Lake and Wilson Creek, Krupp, Grand Coulee and Coulee City, Electric City and small sections of Moses Lake, according to a press release from the Grant County Commissioners. 

“The ideal candidate works in or has experience in the tourism industry,” the press release said.

Tourism commission members are not paid. The GCTC meets the first Wednesday of each month in the county commissioners' hearing room at the Grant County Courthouse, 35 C St. NW in Ephrata.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interested applicants can find the form on the county website, www.grantcountywa.gov, under the “Boards and Commissions” tab, current vacancies.

MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
