MT. HALL — Pioneer Lodge is a turn-key venue just 20 minutes north of Bonners Ferry, whether you’re looking for a family staycation or a wedding venue. 

With views of Mission Creek, the Kootenai Valley and Hall Mountain, Dennis and Anita Dinning originally used the lodge as a family cabin. Ultimately they decided the 40-acre property was meant to be shared and converted it into a venue. 

"This is the place to stay and play, if you want,” Dennis said. With the proximity to Canada and across the road from national forest land, guests can get out in nature, while having the security and luxury of being in a house. 

The three-level house comes with a daylight basement where one can see the mountains and the occasional storm across the valley. The lodge has multiple uses, whether it is for a family getaway, hunting trip or event.

The house has seven beds with three additional beds in the apartment above the barn, allowing 20 people to stay over.  

When used as a wedding venue, the house can be utilized for a bride and bridesmaids to get ready with the apartment having enough space for the groom and groomsmen. Additionally, a mini fridge and poker table comes in the apartment to keep the fellas entertained. 

The lawn is used for an outdoor wedding venue. For indoors space a refurbished barn with a dance floor and a separate bar is available. This year the Dinnings are hosting the Bonners Ferry High School prom, dinners, a few weddings and additional gatherings.
