Prosecutors from Nez Perce County say they will seek the death penalty against Skylar Meade, who faces first degree murder charges for the death of 83-year-old James Mauney from Juliaetta. Meade is accused of murdering Mauney after escaping custody from a Boise hospital in March.

Meade was transferred to Nez Perce County earlier this week to face the new charges. Meade had already been sentenced to life in prison with possibility of parole after 35 years for the escape charges, according to Prosecutor Justin Coleman.
