Approximately 134 Avista electric customers located on the north side of Coeur d’Alene Lake will experience a planned power outage next Tuesday, August 13, according to a press release put out by Avista.

Customers located near the intersection of East Sunnyside Road and East Coeur d’Alene Drive will be impacted. The six-hour planned outage will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. the same day.

Impacted customers will be notified. No road closures are expected, but traffic control will be in place.

Avista contract crews will be replacing wood power pole crossarms with fiberglass crossarms in the area.

This work is part of the ongoing grid hardening efforts to strengthen electric infrastructure, especially in fire-prone areas. Avista is continually updating equipment and infrastructure to increase the safety and reliability of its system, reads the press release.
