EPHRATA — A change of command for G Company, 181st Brigade Support Battalion will be held Saturday in Ephrata at 10 a.m. with outgoing commander, Cpt. Charles V. Barnett passing command to Cpt. Georgia F. Lamb.
G Co. 181 BSB is a Washington Army National Guard unit headquartered in Ephrata with the mission of providing combat health service support for the 81st Brigade Combat Team. The unit’s motto is “We support the mission.”
The change of command ceremony will occur at the Ephrata Armory and will be accompanied by a change of responsibility to pass the reigns from outgoing 1SG Fernando Garcia to incoming SFC Michael Camp.
Changes of command occur as the military reassigns service members from one position to another and units have a variety of traditions incorporated into their change of command ceremonies.
