BREWSTER — Drivers traveling between Wenatchee and Okanogan should expect delays on U.S. 97 at the Brewster city limits Wednesday.

Construction crews will be chip-sealing one mile directly south of Brewster from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release from the Washington Department of Transportation.

“Travelers will encounter pilot cars and flagger-controlled traffic,” wrote Sebastian Moraga, WSDOT communications officer.

Crews have been chip-sealing roads throughout Grant, Adams, Okanogan and Chelan counties this summer as part of the state’s strategic preservation project. The section near Brewster is one of the last scheduled for 2024.
