First on the Ronan City Council’s agenda last Wednesday was a request from the Ronan Co-op Brewery for for an open container permit on Sept. 27 from 4-8 p.m. on Fourth Ave. SW from Main Street to the alley. The brewery also asked for a street closure for the same date and time on Fourth Ave. SW from Main Street to the alley for its third anniversary party.

Councilors discussed putting together a facilities-use agreement with the Ronan Softball Association and will revisit the topic.

The council will hold public hearings, one at 4:15 p.m. and one at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 regarding annexing the Mission Range Event Center property into the city and removing the ag restriction from the property.

Councilors also approved:

• Craig Shepherd’s engagement letter for 2024. Shepherd prepares the city’s annual report.

• Contractors' applications for payments #9 and #10, and authorized Mayor Chris Adler to sign on behalf of the city of Ronan.

• A draw from the American Rescue Plan grant for $278,401.65 and authorized Mayor Adler and Clerk Kaylene Melton to sign and submit on behalf of the city of Ronan.

The next meeting will be Aug. 28 at 6 p.m.
