BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry High School leadership class is inviting local businesses to show their Badger pride in support of Homecoming from Sept. 9-13 and in the spirit of friendly competition.

“We encourage all business in Boundary County to display their Badger pride and help create a vibrant, unified community spirit,” BFHS leadership class members said in an announcement. “Our goal is to see the Badger spirit shine throughout the area, rallying support for our team and contributing to a successful Homecoming week.”

Business interested in entering the contest aspect of the competition should email Sydney Hinthorn at syd.hinthorn12@gmail.com

Businesses that decorate but do not sign up for the competition will not be running for it.

The winning business will be decided based on how well their display embodies Badger school spirit and the overall idea of homecoming.

Current ASB students will judge businesses that choose to participate. The winning business will be presented a trophy at the homecoming football game against the Northwest Christian Crusaders on Friday, Sept. 13.

A business representative will be invited to receive the trophy at halftime. The trophy will pass from winner to winner as this tradition continues. A plaque will also be given to the winner for them to display at their business.

Contest guidelines are as follows:

• Badger pride: Ensure your decorations positively reflect the Badger spirit.

• Creativity: Use various materials and techniques.

• Deadline: Email to reserve your space in the competition by Friday, Sept. 6.

Competition deadline: Judging will take place on Monday, Sept. 9.
