NIC VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals drop two in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — North Idaho College opened play at the Crystal Innvitational with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 loss to Butler of El Dorado, Kan., on the campus of Salt Lake Community College on Friday.
Freshman Jordyn Williams had 10 kills in the match for the Cardinals.
“We just couldn’t quite finish some of the close sets against their length,” NIC coach Drew Pascua said. “They run a really high octane offense that gave us some trouble.”
Later, NIC fell to Eastern Wyoming 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19.
NIC (2-4) concludes the tournament today, facing host Salt Lake at 10 a.m. PDT, then facing Central Wyoming of Riverton, Wyo.
