MOSES LAKE – A 12-year-old was arrested after Grant County Sheriff’s Officers stopped him in a stolen vehicle by using the Precision Immobilization Technique.

Police in Issaquah in King County notified GCSO deputies that the suspect had stolen his grandfather's car. He has connections in Moses Lake and so it was believed he would drive to Grant County – which he did. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive between Issaquah and Moses Lake, according to Google Maps.

The Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit went looking for the vehicle and found it in the 900 block of Lowry Street in the Larson Community at around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

However, the 12-year-old driver drove off towards Randolph Road and State Route 17. Then, after a short pursuit, GCSO deputies used the PIT maneuver to stop the suspect. The 12-year-old is lodged in Chelan County Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony eluding.
