The Mineral County Turkey Trot 5K, hosted by the Mineral County Rec club had a simple motto. Run now, gobble later.

    The Mineral County Turkey Trot 5K, hosted by the Mineral County Rec club had a simple motto: Run now, gobble later. Participants were encouraged to run, gallop, skip, walk or jog the event. Many families were present with strollers, buggies and wagons. The first-place winner of the 5K was Silas Acker, followed by his mom, Laura Acker, taking second. The courthouse lawn was adorned with a giant blow-up Santa, a massive snowman, a fluffy blow-up igloo, and dozens of twinkling lights. Children and families climbed the decorated stairway up to Santa Claus to tell him their wish lists and received goodie bags generously donated by Craig and Deb Sheppard.
