Gesa scholarship applications open

RICHLAND — Gesa Credit Union, which operates multiple branches in Eastern Washington, including one in Moses Lake, is accepting applications for college scholarships, the credit union announced Tuesday. Students who are entering college for the first time, continuing to pursue higher education or managing student loans are encouraged to apply. 

The amounts available across each category for the 2025-2026 scholarships include: 

• $50,000 for high school seniors who have participated in Gesa’s High School Credit Union program. 

• $30,000 for high school seniors entering college for the first time. 

• $15,000 for Gesa members who are continuing their pursuit for higher education.  

• $5,000 for members with active student loans to continue their education. 

“At Gesa, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools for personal growth at any age. We’re proud to help reduce financial barriers through our scholarship program so that local students from all backgrounds can focus on their academic goals and future careers,” Brandon Allison, AVP of Training, Education and Community Relations at Gesa Credit Union, wrote in the announcement. “Supporting education isn’t just about helping individuals – it’s also an investment that strengthens our local communities. We’re honored to be part of empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers.” 

Scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 school year close Feb. 25, according to the announcement. Applicants must be Gesa members and submit their application through the online portal found on Gesa’s website. For more information on grant eligibility and to apply, visit https://bit.ly/GESAED
