PREP BASKETBALL: Kellogg opens CIL play with win over St. Maries

KELLOGG — Sophomore Jordyn Stutzke scored a game-high 23 points for the Kellogg Wildcats in a 61-38 win over the St. Maries Lumberjacks in the Central Idaho League opener for both at Andrews Gymnasium on Monday. 

“We started real quick and shot the ball really well,” Kellogg coach Jana Nearing said. “Jordyn came out and hit three 3-pointers in the second half that really solidified our league. We played aggressive and rebounded the ball really well.” 

Junior Dani Henrikson had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Kellogg (2-3), which hosts Genesis Prep tonight at 5:30. 

St. Maries (1-4) hosts Orofino on Thursday.
