MOSES LAKE – The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin has received several awards this year, recognizing exceptional leadership, advocacy and service to youth across the region. These accolades reflect the organization's commitment to transforming the lives of young people and building a stronger community through partnerships, advocacy and high-impact programs. 

October: Child and Adult Care Food Program Excellence in Innovation Award 

The only recipient in Washington, BGCCB was honored for its effort to expand its meal programs, which saw a 100% increase over the past two years. In 2023, 23,380 free meals were served in Moses Lake. 

September: CEO of the Year – The Professional Association 

The award was given to Executive Director Kim Pope, which encompasses accomplishments across the Pacific Region. Award recipients must have exhibited leadership and service while significantly contributing to the club and the community. Pope will compete against four other top executives for the national CEO of the Year award. 

September: Area Council of the Year – Washington, Alaska and Hawaii 

August: League of EAGLES Silver Level Award 

This award is received by only 13% of Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation, and recognizes exemplary governance, commitment to leadership and strategic planning. 

June: CEO of the Year – Washington & Alaska Area Council 

April: Champion for Youth Advocacy Recognition Award 

This award highlights BGCCB’s active engagement with both state and federal leaders, strategic use of media to raise awareness of issues and its role and shaping policies that impact the youth.
