OSBURN — A semi-truck carrying apples on eastbound Interstate 90 crashed into Morehouse Field on Thursday.

According to first responders, the wreck happened just before 2 p.m. The initial call stated a tractor-trailer was on fire in the baseball field.

According to Shoshone Fire District No. 1 Capt. John Miller, when crews arrived, they found a semi-truck with significant damage, but no fire.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene but was not transported to a medical facility.

The truck spilled an estimated 200 gallons of diesel fuel, 50 gallons of diesel exhaust fluid and an unknown amount of refrigerant fluid.

Due to the nature of the spill, state HAZMAT crews were called in to assist with the cleanup.

Morehouse Field is directly east of Silver Hills Elementary School.

An investigation continues.
