Our beloved Mom, Oma and Gigi, Marjorie June (Fehr) Fecht-Rhoads, passed away at 91 years old Oct. 19, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Post Falls.

She was born in Hebron, N.D., on Dec. 13, 1932, but her family eventually moved to Wibaux, Mont., where she graduated from Wibaux High School as valedictorian. Shortly after that, her family moved to Missoula, Mont., where she briefly attended the University of Montana and met her husband, Bob Fecht. They were married Aug. 13, 1952. Bob was immediately sent off to the Korean War, and Marjorie had their first daughter, Bobbi, while he was in South Korea. Dad returned from the war, and their son, Bruce, was born a few years later in Missoula. Eventually, they moved to Spokane, Wash., where they had two more daughters, Rebecca and Brenda, and opened Whitworth Pharmacy. Bob was the pharmacist, and Marge was the bookkeeper and maintained the inventory for over 28 years. Marge also worked for the Community Colleges of Spokane and retired from there. She then worked as a bookkeeper for her son-in-law and daughter at Precision Cutting Technologies. After she was widowed, she married Ron Rhoads in 1997. Even though declining health forced them to separate, they maintained a loving friendship throughout the remainder of Mom's life.

Marge was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Spokane, Wash., where she ensured her kids met Jesus and made lifelong Christian friends. She volunteered in many different groups there, with her favorite activity being the director of the children's choir and passing on the gift of music, which she always said lasted a lifetime! She gave freely to those in need, loved to host pool parties in her backyard for the church youth, took her family on annual trips to Silverwood and made sure her grandkids always had molasses sugar and chocolate chip cookies waiting for them when they came to visit. Marge was a true patriot and loved America. She had many family members who served in the military (spouses, children, grandchildren and others) and she made sure she always had the American flag flown high at her home. One of the most memorable and fun traits about Marge is that she could drink coffee all day, as long as it was in a thin-lipped cup and very strong!

Her last three years were at Garden Plaza in Post Falls, Idaho. There, she made new friends and was well taken care of. Her family thanks the staff at Garden Plaza Bridges Assisted Living and Life Care for their assistance and kindness to Margie, as they lovingly cared for her in the last years and days of her life.

She is survived by her four children, Bobbi (Marlen) Bean Wells, Bruce Fecht, Rebecca (Jimmy) Thornton and Brenda (Clint) Grassel, and 12 grandchildren, Josh, Jesse, Emily, Joey, Marty, Caleb, Jeremiah, Naomi, Sam, Will, Sophie and Gabe, and 12 great-grandchildren.

We rejoice that we will be reunited in Heaven as promised in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus."  A memorial service is planned at Trinity Baptist Church, Spokane, Wash., on June 21, 2025, at 2 p.m.
