EPHRATA – The Grant County Health District released a statement about an unknown suspect impersonating the health district. The release says this person is contacting local businesses and is trying to investigate complaints.

GCHD is unsure what the intent of the scam is; however, they have three recommendations for the community as the scam continues.

First, verify all emails. All GCHD email addresses use the domain @GrantHealth.org.

Second, check the identification of the GCHD employee. All health district employees carry an official badge and business cards. If a badge is not shown at the beginning of the inspection, ask to see it before they begin.

Third, report all suspicious encounters. If suspected that someone is impersonating health staff contact GCHD directly at 509-766-7960 and verify their identity.

The health district wants to remind residents that the community's health and trust are top priorities and to reach out to GCHD with any questions or concerns.
