WALLACE — The Wallace Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday Shop Small event has begun, but there are still opportunities to get to Wallace and grab a sweet deal.

“The idea was to make it easy for shoppers by giving them a list of our members who are having sales so they can support our local economy and shop the sales at the same time,” Wallace Chamber Executive Director Julie George said.

Through the end of the month, businesses like the Fainting Goat, Muchachos Tacos, North ID Unique Creations, Haberdashery Vintage and Antiques, Johnson’s Gems and Wallace Brewing will offer discounts and promotions.

Patti Herndon with North ID Unique Creations said she’s hosting a contest that requires community support.

“I challenged my vendors to decorate their spaces for Christmas,” Herndon said. “I give customers tickets to place in an envelope at the space they like the best. The one with the most tickets on Dec. 31 at closing will receive a prize.”

That’s not the only cool promotion going on in Wallace. George also explained a contest that is taking place at one of Wallace’s newer businesses.

“Valley Naturals has a Weekend in Wallace Giveaway where shoppers can submit four receipts to be entered into the drawing,” George said. “Owner Veronica Stephens came up with this brilliant idea as part of her grand opening. Included is a night’s lodging, dinner, tickets to the comedy show and more.”

Many of the Shop Small deals run through New Year’s Eve, but a list of each business and promotion can be found at www.wallaceidahochamber.com.
