PREP WRESTLING: Wood, Holman brothers lead Sandpoint to victory over Priest River

PRIEST RIVER — The visiting Bulldogs won five out of their nine contested matches by either pin or technical fall to capture a 52-24 dual win over the Spartans on Tuesday.

Brothers Ty and Zak Wood started off the scoring for Sandpoint, with Ty picking up a win by pin at 98 pounds and Zak a 15-0 technical fall victory at 120 pounds. Colter Cates (157) picked up Sandpoint's other technical fall victory while Daniel Holman (165) and Jackson Holman (285), also brothers, won by pin for the Bulldogs, which also had four wins by forfeit on the night.

Wrestling to wins by pin for the Spartans were Orion Grimes (126), Bill Rapier (132), Colm McLaimtaig (144) and Darien Ratzlaff (215).

Both Sandpoint and Priest River will compete again this Friday and Saturday at the George Wild Invitational hosted by Kellogg.
