Few Named a Naismith Hall of Fame First-Time Nominee

Gonzaga head men's basketball coach Mark Few is a first-time nominee for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, as announced Thursday on ESPN.

Candidates for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025 include Few, Carmelo Anthony, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Dwight Howard, Doc Rivers, Billy Donovan, Sylvia Fowles, Chamique Holdsclaw, Lisa Bluder, Marc Gasol, and Micky Arison.

Few is among just eight first-time North American nominees, joining a select group that includes names such as Donovan, Robert Horry, Howard, Rivers, and Amar'e Stoudemire.

Finalists will be announced in February during NBA All-Star Weekend.

Tickets on sale for 2025 Big Sky Basketball Championships in Boise

Tickets for the 2025 Big Sky Basketball Championships are now on sale to the general public. 

The men's and women's basketball tournaments will be hosted at Idaho Central Arena on March 8-12, marking the seventh-straight year that Starch Madness will be held in Boise.

Fans can purchase all-tournament, all-men's session and all-women's session ticket packages now for courtside, reserved, and general admission seating. Tickets can be purchased via IdahoCentralArena.com or by visiting StarchMadness.com. 

Single-session tickets will be available to purchase on Monday, Feb. 3. 

Fans wishing to purchase all-session tickets within their university's reserved fan block are encouraged to contact their school’s ticket office. 

Jeanty recognized as first unanimous All-American in Boise State football history

Ashton Jeanty was recognized as a 2024 unanimous All-American by the NCAA, becoming the first player in Boise State history to earn this honor. 

To be a unanimous All-American, a player must be included on the All-America first team by the NCAA-designated selectors. 

This year, the official selectors are the Associated Press (AP), the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), Sporting News, and the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF).

Players who were named first team All-American by at least half the selectors are recognized as consensus All-Americans. Jeanty is the third Bronco to be tabbed a consensus All-American, joining offensive linemen Ryan Clady (2007) and Nate Potter (2011).

Jeanty has rushed for 2,497 yards, which ranks fourth in FBS single-season history and is more than 115 FBS teams this season. He has 29 rushing touchdowns, tying for first in the country and equaling or besting the total of 118 teams. The tailback also leads the nation in all-purpose yards (2,613), first downs (121) and points (180).

Jeanty is the recipient of the Doak Walker Award and Maxwell Award and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting. He is the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous first team All-Mountain West selection.

Boise State earned the No. 3 seed and a berth in the Fiesta Bowl during the first expanded College Football Playoff. The Broncos will face the winner of Penn State vs. SMU at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.
