Boys win two in Lewistown

The Columbia Falls basketball teams competed in the East-West tourney in Lewistown over the weekend.

The boys went 2-0, beating Hardin 84-43 Friday and Miles City 56-51 on Saturday.

Against Hardin, Grady Hutton had a great game, with 27, including four 3-pointers. Silas Ypma added 14 for the Wildcats, while Nico Young tallied 13. Columbia Falls outscored Hardin 44-12 in the second half.

Against Miles City, Cooper Ross scored 15 points and Jory Hill added 11 and Reggie Sapa had nine in a tight game.

The girls had a tough tournament, losing 68-45 to Miles City and 57-15 to Hardin.

Scoring wasn’t available by presstime.

The girls are 1-3 on the year, the boys 3-1. After the holiday break the girls host Frenchtown at home Jan. 9. Varsity starts at 7:15 p.m. The boys home opener is Jan. 11 against Hamilton, with a 4 p.m. varsity start.
