Whitefish seniors Scotty Dalen and Carson Gulick were selected for the 78th Annual Montana East-West Shrine Game, one of the oldest high school All-Star Games in the country.

The game is scheduled for June 21 in Great Falls.

Dalen was selected as a defensive end and Gulick as a safety. Whitefish receiver CJ Thew was selected as an alternate.

Forty of Montana’s finest high school players, as well as two Canadian players, were selected to compete while raising money for and awareness of the expert orthopedic and burn care available at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Spokane.

Montana’s has been the top Shrine Game in the nation for hospital donations, raising millions of dollars.

Kyle Mihelish of Helena Capital will coach the West team.  Mihelish, in his 17th season, guided the Bruins to the 2024 State AA championship, the second of his tenure.

Other class A Northwest Montana players joining the West’s roster are Labe Voermans of Columbia Falls, Henry Carlson of Bigfork, Wes Banks of Eureka, and tight end Bryson LeCoure of Thompson Falls.

Bridger Smith, Kobe Dorcheus, Mark Ahner, Carson Baker and Ben Winters, from State AA runner up Glacier, will also be on the West’s team.
