Boys Roundup: Whitefish races past Ronan

WHITEFISH — CJ Thew fueled Whitefish’s 24-point second quarter with 14 points, and the Bulldogs went on to beat Ronan 71-56 in a Northwest A boys basketball battle Thursday.
Thew finished with a game-high 19 points and led four players in double figures for Whitefish (8-5 overall, 4-3 in the Northwest A), which hit 22 of 32 free throws — 14 of 20 in the fourth quarter.
Carson Krack had 15 points, Carson Gulick added 14 and Mason Kelch checked in with 12.
Kolby Finley’s 10 points led Ronan (9-5, 6-2 in league), which beat Whitefish 50-39 on Jan. 12.

BIGFORK — Maurice Redhorn III scored 31 points, 19 from the fourth quarter on as Browning edged Bigfork in double overtime in Northwest A play.
Redhorn hit four 3-pointers, two in the fourth quarter, and Tommy Running Rabbit added 24 points including a 10-for-10 performance at the line. Jude Reevis added two treys and 10 points for the Indians (9-4 overall, 5-2 in league).
Asher Knopik’s 17 points led Bigfork; he hit four 3-pointers. Jack Jensen and Cole Knopik added 13 points each for the Vikings (7-9, 5-5 in league).
