The Columbia Basin has a great deal to do regardless of age. Here are several that are senior-friendly and provide a chance to socialize with a variety of people.

Feb. 8

Aaron Crawford

Original Cascade Country artist Aaron Crawford combines classic country with Seattle rock and roll. 6 p.m. at Gård Public House, 112 Evergreen Ave. NW, Royal City. No cover charge, but reservations are recommended. Info: 509-414-1484.

Feb. 9 and 10

Quincy Valley Allied Arts will present the final two weekends of its production of “Bright Star.” The musical tells two stories in one, the first about a love affair in 1923 with serious consequences, the second about a young World War II veteran with literary dreams. MLSD Preschool Art Show reception

Adult guided sketch

Class for ages 16 and older taught by museum fine art instructor Cheryl Fall. This class will guide you to develop — or improve — your drawing skills through the basics of sketching from a variety of set-ups. We’ll cover live sketching techniques, drawing beautifully draped fabrics, sketching everyday objects, as well as techniques to establish value and scale. All materials are provided for this class; however, you may choose to bring your own sketchbook and/or pencils. Third Friday Beginner’s Jam

Learn how to support refugee youth through foster care. The Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) Program serves teenage youth seeking refuge in the U.S. who do not have family to provide care. Foster families offer a safe, supportive home for these youth to thrive.
