A Polson man admitted to stealing a safe containing guns, heroin possession, and missing court appearances.

Cirdan Zachorius Nader, 30, entered a plea of guilty in Polson District Court last Thursday to felony charges of theft, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and two counts of bail jumping. The plea was entered as part of an agreement that will dismiss another drug possession charge and another bail jumping charge.

The agreement comes with a recommendation of a two-year deferred sentence on the drug possession charge. It also comes with a three-year commitment to the Montana Department of Corrections with all but time served suspended, and a five-year commitment to the DOC with three years suspended. The sentences will run consecutively to each other.

Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher is not bound to the agreement.

According to court records, a family member of Nader reported the theft of a safe that contained various firearms and suspected Nader. He initially denied taking the safe, but when confronted by law enforcement about a text message confession Nader had sent to the family member, he admitted to the theft. While he could not account for the firearms, he stated he had discarded the safe at the landfill.

Nader also admitted to possessing heroin Dec. 15, 2018.

Judge Christopher set sentencing for March 21. Nader remains in the Lake County Jail with bond totaling $80,000.
