John Neal Rader, 79, passed away peacefully and with family Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, in Rathdrum, Idaho.

John was born July 21, 1944, in Jackson, Calif., to Marguerite Olive Hatler and Samuel Cornelius Rader. John graduated in 1961 from South Lake Tahoe High School. He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1969 and purchased a cattle ranch to embrace country living. 

John was an avid card player. He had his favorite table and seat at the local casinos. He was a gifted poker player but enjoyed any good card game. 

John loved hunting and sharing his favorite hunting stories to anyone who would listen.

John was a competitive bowler and loved to show off his bowling style during bowling league season. He won several trophies for his bowling skill. 

John was known for his logging/trucking business, R&R Logging, where he worked hard with his family.

He is survived by the love of his life, Linda; and children, Collett, Neal (Janice), Shaneal and stepson Richard (Karla); sister, Elya; his 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margol; father, Samuel; step-father, George; and sister Nadine and brother-in-law Arthur.
