EPHRATA — City of Ephrata staff believe a sewer line has collapsed on Division Avenue E. between J and K streets near the pickleball courts, according to City Administrator Ray Towry.

“Crews are there working and there will be a detour for westbound traffic until it can be fixed, hopefully early next week,” Towry said.

The depth of the line makes it a complicated repair which is likely to require a contractor to address the repair. Detours in the area will be intermittent while a city maintenance vehicle is used to bypass the blockage.

“We will do our best to (avoid) delay during transportation hours,” Towry said.
