COLUMBIA BASIN – Royal, Warden, Almira/Coulee-Hartline and MLCA/CCS all hit the court this week for state basketball play. 

Wednesday, Feb. 28

No. 6 seed Royal boys basketball vs No. 11 Riverside - 1A Boys State Basketball Tournament Round of 12 game begins at 9 a.m. at the Yakima Valley SunDome. 

No. 2 seed Warden girls basketball vs No. 10 Davenport - 2B Girls State Basketball Tournament Round of 12 game begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Spokane Arena.

No. 5 seed Almira/Coulee-Hartline girls basketball vs No. 12 Garfield-Palouse - 1B Girls State Basketball Tournament Round of 12 game begins at 7:15 p.m. at the Spokane Arena.

Thursday, Feb. 29

No. 10 seed MLCA/CCS boys basketball vs TBD -  1B Boys State Basketball Tournament quarterfinal game begins at 12:15 p.m. at the Spokane Arena.

CHENEY – Eastern fell in straight sets to Sacramento State on Wednesday night, according to a statement from EWU athletics. The Eagles were led by Kalista Lukovich and Alyssa Radke with seven kills apiece, while Elle Bruegman anchored the defense with 14 digs. Eastern also continued to showcase one of its season-long strengths at the net, out-blocking the Hornets 9–3 with seven solo blocks.
