Linda is preceded in death by both her parents and, tragically, her beloved daughter, Tanya Mayda. She is survived by her cherished children and grandchildren: Cristi McCaslin and her son, Camden Black, and his girlfriend, Gabe Pratt; Tanya Mayda (deceased) her daughter, Isabella McCaslin; Amy and Kelly Bauer with their children: Baylee, Tori and Addie; Aaron and Ingrid McCaslin and their children: Sophia, Brie, Olivia and Beau; Abigail and Michael Prussack and their children: Rylie, Elliot and Hayden; her brothers, Rick (Ellen) Waye and Mark Waye.
Linda graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Wash. In the early 1970s, she moved to the Clallam Bay Sekiu area, where she built a beautiful life.
She met the love of her life, Russell McCaslin, in 1978 and they exchanged vows Nov. 5, 1980, in a ceremony held in Port Angeles, Wash.
A significant moment in Linda's life was when she stood up in Jack and Irene Smith's meeting during the Sunday of the Duncan convention in 1986. Linda's unwavering faith led her to share her wish to profess, a moment graciously facilitated by the Smiths. In the years that followed, Linda and Russell touched countless lives in their communities, leaving an indelible mark on the Washington and Oregon coasts as well as North Idaho.
Linda dedicated the most recent years of her life to service at North Idaho Stem Charter in Rathdrum, Idaho, where she worked as a dedicated teacher's aide.
A celebration of life in honor of Linda will be held Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Norm and Tracey Waldo’s, 27769 W. Highway 53 Hauser, Idaho 83854. Friends and family are invited to join together to remember and celebrate her beautiful life.
