Boise State adds five transfers, including former five-star QB
BOISE — Boise State football coach Spencer Danielson announced the addition of five transfers to the Broncos program Monday. All five transfers come from FBS programs with three of the five joining from Group of 5 programs.
The five additions to the Blue and Orange are Cam Camper (WR, Indiana), Jeremiah Earby (CB, California), Malachi Nelson (QB, USC), Jarrett Reeser (K/P, San Diego State) and Tavion Woodard (DL, Ball State).
Camper was the leading receiver for Indiana in 2022 despite only seeing action in seven games until suffering a season-ending knee injury. His first collegiate appearance witnessed Camper catch 11 passes for 156 yards in the season-opener against Illinois which remains the most by a Hoosier in a debut in program history. Over his two seasons, he totaled 854 yards receiving on 63 catches, averaging 13.5 yards per reception in his 15 games played.
Earby spent two seasons at California, making 10 starts in 24 games played over two seasons with the Bears. He totaled 62 tackles, 17 pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
Nelson, the highest-rated recruit to commit to Boise State, was a five-star quarterback out of high school and redshirted the 2023 season at USC. The nation’s No. 1 rated recruit in the 2023 signing class according to ESPN, Nelson provides immediate needed depth in the quarterback room.
Reeser remains in the Mountain West Conference, having spent two seasons at San Diego State. He provides additional depth on special teams after receiving first team all-state (California) honors in high school and was rated as the No. 37 kicker in the 2021 class by Chris Sailer Kicking.
Woodard spent the past four seasons with new Boise State co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Tyler Stockton at Ball State. Woodard compiled 83 total tackles (46 solo, 37 assisted) in 42 games played at Ball State while making 28 starts. He was credited with 17 tackles for loss of 76 yards including 11 sacks for loss of 61 yards, three passes defended and two forced fumbles.
All five additions to the Broncos roster are expected to be on campus this week and available for spring practice.
