COEUR d’ALENE — A medical clinic for Kootenai County employees has a home.
Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a three-year lease with 920 Ironwood LLP for a space located at 9320 W. Ironwood Drive. The registered agent for the LLP is Kiemle & Hagood Company, a commercial real estate agency in Coeur d’Alene.
The lease runs from March 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2026, with a monthly rent of $4,626.50 for the first year, $4,765.30 for the second year and $4,908.25 for the third year.
The county will not pay rent for the month of March, during which it will carry out renovations and abatement of asbestos that was found in one room after an environmental assessment. The landlord will pay for the abatement, according to the lease.
A floor plan of the premises included in the lease shows six exam rooms, two offices, a lab and an X-ray room.
Operated by PMR Healthcare, the clinic will be open to county employees and will offer primary and preventative care without co-pays or deductibles. The Hagadone Corp. opened a similar PMR clinic for its employees last summer.
PMR Healthcare has retained a doctor for the county’s clinic, who has not been publicly named. Commissioners voted unanimously in November to approve a physician stipend of $45,000 per month, beginning Jan. 1.
The county has budgeted $100,000 per month for clinical services.
