Born on Dec. 28, 1940, to Harry L. Vonberg and Marjorie L. Vonberg in Laramie, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Eva E. Watson of Aurora, Colo., and Helen E. Waters of Georgetown, Texas. He married Gloria K. Vonberg in August 1962 and she also preceded him in death. They were married for 51 years.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Starr of Little Elm, Texas, sons William E. Vonberg Jr. of Burlington, Wash., Anthony S. Vonberg of California, Christopher K. Merkley of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Brent J. Merkley of Port Angeles, Wash., grandsons Garret C. Merkley and Patrick Vonberg, and great-grandchildren Liliana Merkley, Harper Merkley, and Crew Merkley.
A burial will take place at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.
